  • JINGBAO™ Downtown is located at Ryerson Community Public School, in the heart of Chinatown. The Downtown site is one of the biggest campuses of the JINGBAO™family that offers a full range of services, starting from toddlers to school-age. In addition, SMILE, an intensive Mandarin after-school program is available three days per week for children age 6 to 12 years old.

  • SMILE Program

    SMILE (Specialized Mandarin Intensive Language Elementary) is a one-of-a-kind after-school program offered by Toronto Mandarin School. The program starts at the senior kindergarten level and goes up to high school, following a systemic structure and at a more intensive pace of study. 

    The SMILE program aims to support the students who graduate from JINGBAO™ and want to continue to develop Mandarin proficiency in all aspects of the language, including listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students of all cultures and language backgrounds, and who can understand instructions in Mandarin are welcome. 

  • SMILE provides both in-person and remote learning options with the choice of learning Mandarin two to three days a week. Both group classes and 1-on-1, 1-on-2 private lessons are available. Parents have the flexibility to customize the programs by topping up the group classes  with private lessons or choosing either of them. Students will benefit more from social interaction with peers in a group setting and receiving more attention in private lessons.

    Standard language proficiency tests (YCT/HSK) will be conducted by grade as part of assessment for the school year.
